Alfred S. “Fred” Plante, 99, of Danvers, died Wednesday evening in the
Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Deschenes) Plante.
Fred was born in Salem the son of the late Cleophase and
Emma (Poussard) Plante. He had been a
resident of Salem for over seventy years. He moved to Florida for fifteen years and later
returned to live with his daughter Deborah in Danvers.
Mr. Plante had been employed by Essex Aggie School for many years before retiring
thirty-four years ago. Fred enjoyed sun
bathing. He was a member of the Moose
Lodge, the Christopher Columbus Society and the former Canadian Klondike Club all of Salem.
Surviving are three daughters; Deborah Plante of Danvers with whom he lived, Carol Acosta
and her husband Napo of CA, and Barbara Mastrogianis and her husband Anthony of
Danvers, four grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass
in Ste. Anne’s Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem, Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 9.a.m. The
burial will be private. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
