Arthur D. “Mitch” Michaud, 79, of Linden St. Salem, died Monday evening in Salem Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Young) Michaud.
Mr. Michaud was born in Salem, the son of the late Ernest and
Yvonne (Beaupre) Michaud. He has been a
resident of Salem all his life.
Arthur was a World War Two Army veteran serving as a Military Policeman
in Germany with the army of occupation.
Following his discharge from the Army, Mitch began
his employment with the former Atwood & Morrill Co. of Salem as a
machinist. After over forty years with
the company, Mr. Michaud retired in 1990.
Mitch was well known for fixing things around the house and for his love
of woodworking. He was a loving husband
and father and was very family oriented.
Surviving him are one son, Arthur Michaud and his
wife Annemarie of Beverly, one daughter, Darlene Joly and her husband Edward of
Salem, three grandchildren; Matthew Michaud, Jason and David Joly, two sisters;
Rachel Pelletier of Salem, and Yvonne Puleo of Edison, NJ, and nieces and
nephews. Mitch also leaves his close
friend and companion, his dog, Logan.
He was the brother of the late Lucy Brooks, Roland and Roger Michaud.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in
the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt. 1A/114) Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be
private. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the NSMC Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr. Peabody, MA 01960.
