Brenda Joyce (Beeman) Lavoie, 67, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010 at Salem Hospital, following a brief illness. She
was the wife of the late Ronald R. Lavoie.
Born in Beverly, the
daughter of the late Harold B. and Eleanor L. (Kuell) Beeman, Brenda
lived in Salem since the age of 12. She was a graduate of
Saltonstall School in Salem before working as a young woman at Ideal
Baby Shoe and later worked as a nurse's aid for more than 20 years at
Danvers State Hospital and other nursing homes. Brenda also worked
cleaning homes for elderly people for 18 years until her illness forced
her to retire. In her spare time, Brenda enjoyed playing Bingo.
She
is survived by two children, Rhonda (Lavoie) Bowridge of North Reading,
and Darrell Lavoie of Georgia; three grandchildren, Jessica Bowridge,
Mark Bowridge Jr. and Amber Lavoie; a sister, Donna Record of Ossipee,
N.H.; and two brothers, Charlie Beeman and his wife Connie of New
Jersay, and Bruce Beeman and his wife Jackie of Danvers, and many
nieces and nephews. Brenda was predeceased by a sister, Sandra
Szczechowicz and two brothers, Gary Beeman and Lincoln Beeman.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Visitation will be held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191
Lafayette St. (Route 1A/114), Salem, on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. A
memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial
will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are
invited.
