Claudette M. (LeFrancois) Houde, 73, of Peabody, died suddenly at Beverly Hospital, Tuesday, June 30, 2009.  She was the wife of R. Buzz Houde.

            Claudette was born in Salem, the daughter of the late Paul and Bertrande (Vallee) LeFrancois.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Salem and Wilfred's Beauty Academy in Boston before receiving her Hairdresser's License.  Claudette had been employed at the former Almy’s Department Store Beauty Salon for years and later worked in the mail department in Beverly Hospital where she retired. 

            Mrs. Houde loved to cook and enjoyed watching the cooking channel.  She also enjoyed watching sports and doing macrame.  She and her husband Buzz, who had been married for 51 years, loved to travel and have cruised throughout the world.

            Surviving Claudette, in addition to her loving husband Buzz are one son, Andrew Houde and his wife Karen of Plymouth, MA, six grandchildren; Parker, Cory, Spencer, Samantha, Kristi, and James, one great-grandson, Joshua, one sister, Arline Michaud and her husband Ted of Rochester, NH, and several nieces and nephews including Marianne Michaud.

            Her funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt. 1A/114) Salem, Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, North St. Salem/Peabody line at 10 a.m.  The burial will be private.  Visiting hours in the funeral home are Monday from 4-8 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn's Foundation of America, 280 Hillside Ave., Needham, MA 02494.
