Doris M. (Morency) Mansell, 84, of Salem, died
Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, 2011 in Grosvenor Park Nursing Home. She was
the wife of the late George M. Mansell.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the
late Anthime and Marie Louise (Chouinard) Morency. Doris had been
employed as a Nurses Aide at the former Ivy Manor in Salem. Doris was
active with the Salem Council on Aging including their involvement with
the Salem Heritage Day Parade and also volunteered at the Boys and Girls
Club of Salem.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Kapantais
and her husband Stephen of Salem, Jane Murphy of Beverly, Anne Harhausen
and her husband Daniel of Centerville, a sister, Jeannette Cullen of
Beverly, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her daughter Shirley
Miller, sisters Cecile Petropoulos, Rose White, Lillian Lane and Rita
Desmond, all of Salem, and her lifelong companion Donald "Topsy" Sloane.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to
visiting hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 2-6 pm in the Berube and Sons
Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt. 1A/114), Salem. Burial will be
private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St.
Jude's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
