CONCORD — Dorothy Edna (LeFrancois) Simard, 101, died Saturday, Aug.
8, 2009 in Concord Health Care Center, Concord. She was the wife of the
late Wilfred J. Simard. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage.
Born
in Verdi, Nev., March 31, 1908 the daughter of the late Arthur and
Delphina (LeBel) LeFrancois, Dorothy lived in Salem for 97 years. She
devoted many hours to St. Joseph Parish where she was a member of Les
Dames de la Ste. Famille. Mrs. Simard worked in Lynn as a fancy shoe
stitcher until the age of 73. She was an exceptional daughter, sister,
wife, mother and memere to all. She loved music, sewing, and spending
time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters,
Dolores Dunn and her husband Alfred of Bedford and Constance Normand
and her husband Gerard of Springfield; a son, Donald Simard and his
wife Joan of Cape Neddick, Maine; a sister, Sr. Cecile LeFrancois,
Sisters of the Assumption, of Petersham; 16 grandchildren, 30
great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by nine siblings.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Her funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191
Lafayette St. (Route 1A/114) Salem, Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a
funeral Mass in Ste. Anne's Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours are
Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Memorial
