| Ernest “Ernie” Nordstrom, 60, of Raymond Rd., Salem, died in Lahey Hospital, Burlington, MA, Tuesday, October 14, 2008. He was the
husband of Kathleen (Meaney) Nordstrom.
Born in Holden, MA the son of the late Ernest O. and Anna (Tucker)
Nordstrom, Ernie was a graduate of Everett Vocational Technical High School and
lived in Saugus most of his life before moving to Salem 22 years ago. After high school Ernie joined the U.S. Army
serving in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon his return, Ernie drove for the Jefferson
Smurfit Corporation for 22 years. He was
a Past Commander of the American Legion Post in Revere and was a member of the VFW Post 1240 in Swampscott. Ernie loved going camping with his
grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and
enjoyed fishing and loved riding his motorcycle.
Along with his loving wife, Kathleen, Ernie is survived by a son, Brian
Beaulieu of Salem, a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Joseph Rodriguez of
Peabody, two grandchildren he loved very much, Savina and Sofia Rodriguez,
three sisters; Sandra Boisvert and her husband Ron of N.H., Jane Hayden of Fla,
and Robin Bryant and her husband Chuck of Fla, two brothers-in-law; Ronald Meaney
and his wife Arlene, and Richard Meaney and his longtime companion Jennifer and
several nieces and nephews. Ernie also
leaves three good friends J.D., Belle, and Dessi.
Relatives
and friends are invited to a memorial visitation Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 3-6 p.m. in the Berube and
Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem. A collation will follow after the visitation
at a family home. Information regarding
the collation will be available at the funeral home.
