DANVERS — Jeanne (LaForge) Jalbert, 88, of Danvers, died at her home
Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2009. She was the wife of the late Leon C.
Jalbert.
Jeanne was born in New Brunswick, Canada on May 5,
1921. She was the daughter of the late Pitre and Lina (Poitras) LaForge
and moved to Salem in 1939, where she lived for most of her life. For
10 years she lived with her daughter and family in Peabody.
For
the past eight years she lived in Danvers at Putnam Farms where she
enjoyed the company of all her friends and participated in many
activities with them. Above all else, Jeanne loved spending time with
her family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a
member of the former Les Dames de la Ste. Famille of the former St.
Joseph's Church in Salem where she was a longtime parishioner.
Mrs.
Jalbert is survived by her children, Raymond Jalbert of Beverly,
Jeannelle Corbin and her husband Robert of Farmington Hills, Mich.,
Donald Jalbert and his wife Janet of Millbury, Charlene Hollins and her
husband Bernard of Peabody, Doreen Butler and her husband Peter of
Merrimac, and Christine Jalbert of Jamaica Plain. She was predeceased
by her son, Richard Jalbert. She is also survived by two sisters,
Cecile Michaud and Evangeline Levesque; seven grandchildren; Adam and
Stephen Corbin, Brett and Randy Hollins, Kristin Smith, and Shannon and
Jason Jalbert; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan Smith, Cameron
Smith and Noah Johnson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be
held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem,
(Route 1A/114) Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St.
James Church, Federal Street, Salem at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are
Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be
made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923,
or to a charity of one's choice.
