Jeannette St.Amand entered into eternal life on October 3, 2010, just one day before her ninety-second birthday. She lived in Salem most of her life until 2002 when she became a
resident at the Pilgrim Nursing and Rehab in Peabody.
Jeannette was employed by the Pequot Mills until the
company moved its facilities down South.
She was then employed by several local diaper services and
laundromats. Later, she spent several
years as a clerk at Almy’s wharehouse store and at Almy’s downtown store in the
Men’s and Infant’s Departments. Her last
job was a part-time housekeeper at the Salem Fire Dept. Headquarters, a
position she kept and enjoyed until the age of 84.
Jeannette is survived by a sister-in-law, Henrietta
St.Amand of Salem and four generations of many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marie
Louise (Blanchette) St.Amand, six sisters; Yvonne St.Amand, Eva Lavoie, Helena
LaVallee, Aurore Sirios, Yvonne Boudreault, and Rose Julien, and four brothers;
Leo, Lucien, Rene, and Raymond St.Amand.
There will be no visiting hours. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the
Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd. Salem, MA at 11 a.m.
on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery
following the Mass. Arrangements
are through the Berube and Sons Funeral Home of Salem.
The family requests no flowers. If you wish, you may make a contribution to

MA 01970, Attn: Mr. Mark Higgins, or to a charity of one’s
choice.
