Marcel J. Tremblay, 89, of Brooksby Village, Peabody,
died Tuesday, August 17, 2010
at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the
husband of Gabrielle Jalbert.
Born in St. Germaine, Quebec, Canada, Marcel was the son of the late Hormidas and Helena (Bernier) Tremblay.
Marcel lived in Salem most of his life before living in Danvers and later moving to Brooksby Village in Peabody. A U.S. Army
Veteran, Mr. Tremblay served his country during WWII. Back home he worked for Parker Brothers for
thirty five years, retiring as an Assistant Foreman at the age of 62.
Surviving him are two
sons; Gerard Tremblay and his wife Janet of Essex, MA, and Peter Tremblay of
Beverly, MA, a daughter, Elaine Cooke and her husband Richard of Townsend, MA,
a sister, Florida Sinclair and her husband Elliott, and a brother-in-law George
Jalbert and his wife Louvianna, a grandson Christopher Frappier of Somerville,
several step-grand and great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and
nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to
a visitation from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., Friday morning in
the Berube and Sons Funeral Home 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, MA, followed by a
funeral Mass in St. John the BaptistChurch, Chestnut St. Peabody at 11 a.m. Burial
will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Retirement Fund, 30 Jeffery Neck Rd.Ipswich, MA 01938 or to Hospice of the
North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA 01923.
