| Margie (Belleau) Foley, 90, died Thursday morning in
Grosvenor Park Nursing. She was the wife
of the late Richard “Dick” Foley.
Margie was born in Salem the daughter of the late Ernest and
Lydia (Berube) Belleau.
She had been a resident of Salem and Peabody all her life. During World War Two, Margie worked at
General Electric in Lynn. She was
associated with her husband Dick in the ownership of Peabody Auto School for many years. and had also been employed at Flair Cleaners
in Beverly, as a supervisor at Handcrafters of New England in Salem and until
her retirement at the age of seventy-five, she worked as a receptionist at the
unemployment office in Salem.
Margie loved to play soccer and baseball with her
grandchildren and never missed a single game that they were in. She loved painting portraits and making
smocked dresses. Margie had a heart of
gold and guests to her home would be given an unexpected full course meal
minutes after arriving. She was a woman
full of life and loved to share it with her family. Margie has lived in Grosvenor Park in Salem for the last seven years where she
was loved and well cared for by the residents and staff alike. There, she loved to entertain everyone with
her singing and dancing.
Surviving are one daughter, Maureen Woods and her
husband Jack of Peabody, one son, Richard and his wife Diane of Texas, five
grandchildren; Jay, Mark and his wife Amanda, and Heather Woods, Melissa and
Anthony Nall, and Jennifer Foley, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gloria
Michaud, George and Ernest Belleau.
Her funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons
Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St, (Rt.1A/114) Salem, Monday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Ste. Anne’s Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and
friends are invited. Visiting hours are
Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Memorial
