Mary (Gerrish)
Abcunas, 83, of Salem, died Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2010 in Salem
Hospital. She was the wife of the late Julius Abcunas who died Sept.
30, 2010.
Mary
was born in Salem, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Alexina
(Dionne) Gerrish. She was a lifelong resident of Salem and had been
employed at the former Hunts Diner in Lynn for many years. Mary
enjoyed playing Keno and loved to play Bingo. She would arrive early
to the K of C in Peabody and help set up the Bingo room for the
evening.
Surviving are
two sons; Ralph Abcunas and his wife Cheryl, and Ronald Abcunas all
of Salem, a granddaughter, Jillian Abcunas, three sisters; Janet
Terrell of Salem, Rita Gerrish and Shirley Gill both of Peabody, and
nieces and nephews. Mary was the sister of the late Gus, Julia, and
Charles Gerrish.
Relatives and
friends are invited to a funeral service in the Berube and Sons
Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, Saturday at 10
a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours
are Friday from 5-8 p.m.
