Philip Wendell Parker, 61, of Beverly, died October 19, 2008 following a brief illness.  He was the son of the late Wendell and Mary Frances (Scott) Parker.

Born in New York City, NY, August 20, 1947, Philip attended New York Public Schools and was a graduate of the City College of New York.  Mr. Parker was employed by the City of Cambridge, MA as a Clerk of the Works and was the President of The Synergy Organization, a Public Arts Development and Constriction Management Group.

During his life, Philip lived in New York City, Metro Washington, DC, Pittsfield, Cambridge, Newton HighlandsSalem and Beverly, MA.  He was a renaissance man who loved jazz working for a time with Miles Davis.  He held a lifelong interest in the Arts, acting in and directing theatre for which he received credits, he reproduced African “Oni” and other garden ornaments, he worked with the Public Arts Development Advocacy and was interested in Architectural Restoration.  Reflecting his love for the arts was his love also for travel.  He and his longtime close friend Mary K. Condon enjoyed trips to Ireland, France and Italy.  Mr. Parker was also a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge in Beverly, MA. and

Philip leaves a cousin, Tanya Edmond and her husband Everett of Upper Marlboro, MD.  He also leaves a dear friend, Mary K. Condon of Danvers, MA and many more close friends too numerous to mention.  His awards were his friends and his absence will surely be felt by local cultural, art, and musical communities.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blake Memorial Chapel in Harmony Grove Cemetery, 20 Grove St. Salem, MA.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
