Rita A. (Motard) LeBlanc, of Salem, passed away April 15, 2010 in Beverly.  She was the wife of the late Captain Louis V. LeBlanc.

 

            The daughter of the late Honora E. (Pelletier) and Octave Motard, Rita lived in Salem most of her life. She spent part of her later years in Danvers, Exeter, NH, and Beverly at Blueberry Hill Healthcare.  Rita was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Salem where she worked for many years as the secretary at the rectory and where she was a member of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille.  She also worked part-time for many years at Almy's Department Store in downtown Salem.  Rita was an avid Red Sox fan.  Many will remember her sunny smile and her willingness to pitch in to help others.

 

            She was the loving and devoted mother of Norman and his wife, Elaine, of Beverly; Estelle Coan and her husband, Mark, of Peabody; Suzanne Corson and her husband, Bruce, of Exeter, NH; Daniel of Danvers; and Noreen Maher and her husband, Thomas, of Danvers. She was predeceased by her son, Paul R. LeBlanc, who succumbed to ALS in 2005.  In addition to her children, she leaves her grandchildren, Justin and Joelle, Mark and Michael, Jeffrey, Brian and Christine, PJ and Tara, Robert, Ashley, and Christian LeBlanc; Damian and Sarah, Christopher, and Tami Corson; Patrick Coan; Brandy Blackwelder; and Ryan, Alec, Connor, and Sean Maher; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her sisters, Jeannette Darisse of Beverly, Nora Casmir of Lititz, PA, and Cecile Motard of Salem; her brothers-in-law Norman and his wife, Theresa, of Beverly, and Roger and his wife, Lois, of Salem; sisters-in-law Marjorie and her husband, Thomas Hollow, of Boxford, Lucille and her husband, Roger Pooler, of Brewster, and Peggy LeBlanc of Salem. She was predeceased by her brother, Rosario (Rosie) Gagnon, and her sister, Theresa Desmarais.

 

            Her funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, Tuesday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Ste. Anne's Church, Jefferson Ave. Salem at 9 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.  Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA 01923.
