Rita (Michaud)
Berube, 89, of Salem, died October 11, 2011 in the Devereaux Nursing
Home, Marblehead. She was the wife of the late Lucien Berube.
Born in Salem
the daughter of the late Horace and Eva (Ayotte)Michaud, Rita lived
in Salem almost all her life. While living at the Bertram House in
Salem, Rita would walk every day. She loved going to the daily Mass
at Ste. Anne Church and was a member of Ste. Anne's League of
Catholic Women. She attended events at the Senior Center where she
enjoyed being a volunteer in the grandparent's program with middle
school children. Rita was also an artist; her oil paintings were
displayed in Marblehead Town Hall for a time. She loved to dance,
garden, and play bingo.
She
is survived by a son, Richard Berube of Beverly, two daughters;
Gloria Uber and her husband Richard of Marlborough, and Joanne Berube
of Salem, two sisters; Yvonne Claise of Salem and Theresa Maccomisky
of Lynn, a granddaughter, Laura Johnson of Marlborough, four great
grandchildren; Andrew, Austin, Abigail, and Addison and several
nieces and nephews. Rita was the sister of the late Jeannette
Martel, Henri and Arthur Michaud, and Florence Martin.
Relatives
and friends are invited to visitation in the Berube and Sons Funeral
Home 191 Lafayette st. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, Friday morning from 9-10:30
am. A funeral Mass will be held at Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave
Salem Friday at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
