Russell J. Novello, 79, of Walnut St., Peabody, died September
23, 2008 in
the Kindred Hospital, Peabody.
He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Michaud) Novello.
Born and raised in Somerville, Russell was the son of the late
Rocco and Maria (Seveno) Novello.
Russell played football for Somerville High School and was also an amateur boxer. He loved all sports.
An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Novello served
his country with the U.S. Army in Korea.
Upon his return, Russell worked as a maintenance man with several local
nursing homes. He and his wife Lorraine lived in Salem and more recently Peabody.
In addition to his loving wife of 45 years, he leaves
two brothers-in-law; Roland Michaud and his wife Beverly of N. Andover and
Roger Michaud and his wife Audrey of Danvers, two sisters-in-law Jacqueline
Normand and her husband George of Danvers, and Florence Michaud of Epping, NH,
and several nieces and nephews. Russell
is predeceased by three brothers and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Edgar
Michaud.
His funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons
Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem (Rt.1A/114), Monday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Ste. Anne’s Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and
friends are invited. Visiting hours are
Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
