Sherman H. Pettersen, 72, of Lynn, passed away at his home in Lynn. He was the
son of Elizabeth E (St. Arneault) Pettersen and the late Herman M. Pettersen Sr.
Born in Lynn, Sherman
attended Lynn Schools before beginning a life-long career with General
Electric in Lynn where he worked as a machinist. Sherman loved to play cards and enjoyed listening to his
police scanner.
Along with his mother,
Elizabeth Pettersen, now living in Salem, he is survived by three sons, Mark,
Brian and Carl Pettersen, two sisters, Dianne Walker of Salem and Johanne James
and her husband Gordon of N.H and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Herman M.
Pettersen Jr.
There are no visiting hours. Relatives and friends are invited to meet inside
the main gate of Pine Grove Cemetery, on Boston St. Lynn, Monday at 10:45 a.m. to join the family
at a graveside service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are through the Berube and Sons
