Susan (Colcord) Smith, 62, of Peabody, passed away April
12, 2009,
in Salem Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Melrose, MA, Susan was the daughter of the late
Durmmond F. Colcord and Florence Jean (Black) Colcord Pare and was a graduate
of Malden High
School. For years Susan
traveled all over the United States. She worked for a carnival company
and lived in and visited many parts of the country during her time with
them. After returning to Massachusetts, Susan worked at Red’s Sandwich
Shop in Salem for 10 years and also managed the bar at the P.C.Y.C. in Salem for years.
She leaves three daughters; Michelle Smith and her
fiancée Richard of Salem, Debbie Novas of Lynn, and Rachel Smith Pettijohn of
CO, and a son, Anthony Scheri of N. Andover, a special friend, Robert Bezzati,
four brothers; William Colcord and his wife Dorothy of Chelmsford, Richard
Colcord and his wife Maureen of Derry, NH, Joseph Pare formerly of Peabody, and
Paul Pare of Essex, a sister, Lynda Santos and her husband Mario of Peabody,
seven grandchildren; Wayne Renard, Dyango and Zavi Herrera, Valnardia Novas,
Michael Smith, Zachary Pettijohn, and Danielle Scheri and several nieces and
nephews. Susan was the sister of the
late Edward Colcord who passed away this past Wednesday and his wife Marilyn of
Danvers, and the late Steve French and his wife Peggy of Peabody. Susan was a friend to many people and will be
missed all of them as well as by her cats she loved so much.
A visitation will be held in the Berube and Sons
Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (1A/114) Salem, Friday 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are
invited to attend. In lieu of flowers
